Dubrovnik and Kotor are two of the most beautifully preserved medieval cities in Europe.  From Kotor’s impressive city walls, with its Venetian stone lion, to Dubrovnik’s red and honey clay roof tiles, that glitter in contrast with the turquoise sea, much of the architecture of these two old cities testifies not only to their glorious medieval past, but also to singularly beautiful Venetian influence.
