Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland is traditionally said to have been “built on Seven Hills”, but what most people don’t realize is that many of the hills in the area of  Edinburgh are formed from ancient volcanic processes, and all show the effect of glaciation.

A handsome city, Edinburgh is sometimes referred to as the “Athens of the North”.  And if you look up, you might be deceived into thinking that you are viewing the Parthenon!
