Greenock (for Glasgow)

Tartans of Scotland

Glasgow is only about 46 miles west of Edinburgh, but the contrast between the two
cities is noticeable.

Glasgow (pronounced “glaaz-go” by natives) doesn’t offer a fairy-tale setting such
as Edinburgh, it is without a picturesque castle or palace, but, nevertheless,
it exemplifies urban Scotland: historic, dynamic, increasingly cosmopolitan,
big-city feel, and a lively culture.

And, in addition to that, there is no doubt about it, Glasgow exhibits the splendor of what architectural critics hailed as “the greatest surviving example of a Victorian
city”.
